    Add/Remove an ATA from a User

    This article provides instructions for White Label Partners and Client Success teams on how to add or remove an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) from a native fax account or user within the Manager Portal.

    Scope

    This document will show you how to add/remove an ATA from a fax account or fax user.

    Requirements:

    • Reseller scope or higher
    • Supported ATA Device serial number
      • Note: Third-party ATAs are NOT compatible; they will need to be purchased from your provider.
    • Fax user/account configured
    • Knowledge and limitations of deployment scenario

    Supported ATA

    The MP-202B can only be used for faxing purposes; it cannot be used as a general ATA.


    Add an ATA to a User

      Login with a Reseller account in the Manager Portal or Higher.

      Navigate to Domains -> Select the domain -> Inventory.

      Click on the Fax Accounts tab.

      Locate the Phone Number or User, Click the icon to edit the user.

      Note: Make sure the phone number is set to available before you can assign it to a user.

      You should now see the edit modal window with the current user configurations. Click the ATA checkbox to show the Device Type and Serial Number fields.

      In the Device Type, select the ATA device from the supported ATA list.

      Enter the Serial Number of the device and click Save.

      Now that the ATA has been assigned to a user, you should factory reset the ATA.

      When the ATA is back online, check the Inventory -> Fax Accounts and you should see the device online.


    Remove an ATA from a User

      Login with a Reseller account in the Manager Portal.

      Navigate to Domains -> Select the domain -> Inventory.

      Click on the Fax Accounts tab.

      Locate the Phone Number or User, Click the icon to edit the user.

      You should now see the edit modal window with the current user fax configurations.

      Delete the Serial Number from the Serial Number entry and uncheck the ATA checkboxes and click Save.
