    Cisco Manually Registering an ATA

    This article provides steps to manually register a Cisco ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter), including how to obtain the necessary SIP credentials from the Manager Portal and configure the ATA's web interface.

    Scope:

    The following steps will show you how to manually register a Cisco ATA. All examples were made using a Cisco SPA232D, and the portal appearance may vary from device to device.

    Requirements:

    • Access to Manager Portal
    • Access to Cisco Web Interface

    Obtain SIP Credentials

      Log in to the Manager Portal.

      Navigate to Phones.

        NOTE: Office Managers can navigate to Users > select the user > Phones

      Select Phone Info for the ATA you wish to register.

        NOTE: You will only see the information if the phone model is set to Manual or Softphone.

      Take note of the listed information.

      Click Cancel when you are finished.

    Manually Register the ATA

    Note: The default LAN IP Address is 192.168.15.1. You will use this to log into the web interface.

      Using any web browser, navigate to 192.168.15.1. The default username and password will be admin/admin.

      Click on Admin Login > Advanced.

      Click on Voice > Line 1.

      Complete the following, leaving all other fields as default:

      • Proxy: Enter the Domain / Proxy
      • Outbound Proxy: Enter the Outbound Proxy (exclude the 5060)
      • Use Outbound Proxy: yes
      • Register: yes
      • Display Name: User's Name
      • User ID: Username
      • Use Auth ID: yes
      • Auth ID: Username
      • Password: Password

      Click "Submit".
